YASIN PATEL
Our organisation is headed by Mr Yasin Patel, a barrister with 15 years of experience in advising high profile athletes.
- Acted in the leading case on match fixing and corruption when he acted for the Pakistan Test Cricket Captain before CAS under a hearing conducted under the ICC rules.
- Acted for an International England cricketer in a spot fixing case and subsequent appeal in a case brought by the ECB which involved hearings before CAS and the High Court in London;
- Acted for Pakistan Cricket Players in a spot fixing case under the ICC rules in Doha;
- Acted for English domestic and international cricketers, Bangladeshi cricketers and Bangladeshi cricket club owners in relation to corruption and anti-bribery charges brought against them under the ICC rules.
- Acted for Indian Cricket players who were banned from participating in the Indian Cricket League which was a league not recognised by the ICC. This involved ICC rules, BCCI rules and the Indian National Law in conjunction with the advice given by lawyers in India.
- Advised a South African Cricket Player in relation to his match fixing ban given by Cricket South Africa (CSA) heard under the CSA rules.
- Acted for a young tennis player and his family on an anti-racism case before CAS brought against the LTA for discrimination and racism as a result of the young player being banned from taking part in all international tennis tournaments.
- Acted for an Iranian wrestler who was accused of using performance enhancing drugs and was subsequently banned from competing in all international tournaments.
- Advised sporting bodies such as the Dutch Football Association on writing their Anti-Racism Rules, policies, initiatives and laws;
- Advised the Northern Irish Football Association on their Anti-Racism rules, policies and initiatives; and
- Advised the Sri Lankan Cricket Board in relation to player’s rights.
- Member of the Government Advisory Board for the Department of Culture, Media and Sport.

CAITLIN HABERLIN-CHAMBERS
- Before joining SLAM Global, she honed her legal skills working on criminal proceedings in Crown Courts, contributing to the preparation behind Unilever’s sponsorship of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and playing a pivotal role in the Department of Health and Social Care’s Covid-19 Vaccine Deployment Team during the pandemic. Her diverse background has equipped her with a unique blend of legal, corporate, and governmental expertise, making her a versatile asset in the field of sports law.
- Her diverse background includes expertise in arbitration, dispute resolution, and litigation, where she has worked with governing bodies, sports federations, professional athletes, amateur competitors, charitable organisations, and clubs. Caitlin provides strategic advice to a wide range of clients before national and international courts and tribunals, with a particular focus on doping cases and allegations of misconduct.
- Outside of her professional life, Caitlin balances her passion for the law with a love for outdoor activities, including hockey, football, running, and cold-water swimming.
ROBYN WAUGH
- After graduating with a master's degree in Chemistry from the University of Leeds, Robyn furthered her knowledge in analytical, inorganic and organic chemistry through her work in quality control and assurance within the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. She gained a thorough understanding of quality management systems, including MHRA audits, and Good Laboratory / Manufacturing Practices. Robyn currently works as a Senior Global Business Analyst, consulting global pharmaceutical companies on strategic implementation and sales force effectiveness.
- With 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, learning about drugs, procedures, the rules, doping and the various governing body rules on drugs, Robyn is able to combine this expertise with her love for sport in cases involving doping and drugs in particular as well as analysing and forensically considering new judgments, authorities, cases and rules.
- In her spare time, Robyn previously competed in national level triathlon and now enjoys long distance running and hockey.
